CAA Organization Insignia (above)
The first CAA Logo was created in 2003, and was worn by all members of the CAA, as the CAA was, at the time, an individual membership organization. This patched was not issued after 2006
After the rebirth of the CAA into a team based membership organization in 2009, the original green patch was issued for a short time, until 2010, when the 2010 Membership patch was issued to all CAA Team Members. The year was added to the patch to signify that players were current members for the year when wearing insignia. (for purposes of registration and members only pricing for certain games.)
The shape of a shield was chosen as the CAA strives to produce a safe environment for the CAA Teams, and other teams in the area to play in. The colors were chosen to replicate the flag of Chicago, with the blue rectangle and stars being taken directly from the flag. It was determined when the 2010 patch was made, that it would be made in tactical green and brown to attempt to blend with other uniform accessories.
The 2011 Patch, in marked difference to the 2010 patch, was created in the actual Chicago Flag colors, with the difference being that it is remarkably smaller. This was done to lessen the impact that it would have in a tactical situation, but the colors were chosen so that it would still get noticed. In addition, in 2011 we added seven spears to the logo, to signify the seven CAA Teams of 2011. In the future, we will add or subtract spears for each team, and a wreath will be substituted for groups of 10.

CAA Awards Insignia (above)
CAA Award Insignia come in three forms.
CAA Spearhead Tab (black tab worn over CAA Patch)
The CAA Spearhead Tab is awarded to any CAA Member that attends an out of state event that is listed as a CAA Approved Spearhead Event. CAA Members then go to this game, and upon completion of the event, the ranking CAA member that is in attendance (or a designee) completes a short report stating that each of the CAA Members in attendance played honorably and without incident, and represented the CAA to the best of thier ability, at which point that player eans a Spearhead Tab. Task Force Spearhead is the name of the CAA Travel Team for out of state play.
CAA Hasta Pura (red wreath with spear)
The CAA Hasta Pura is the highest award in the CAA. It is given only to those that exemplify the very best our organization has to offer and lives up to the values of the organization; Honor, Integrity, and Dedication. The Hasta Pura, in roman tradition, was a silver spear given to a warrior upon retirement, or upon great deeds, and was considered on of the highest honors that a roman soldier could earn.
CAA Warrior Tab (blue rectangle with spear)
The CAA Warrior Tab is awarded to players who exemplify honor, integrity, dedication, or exemplary teamwork at a single game or in support of the CAA.

CAA Game Issued Insignia (above)
In our attempt and forging a semi realistic gameplay exp... the CAA began in house attempting to make insignia so that teams would have something recognizable when hosting large scale ops.
The first attempt (see the game storyline page for more info on the SGC v RFA) was basically laminated orange and green paper with a piece of velcro on the back during Ace of Spades 1 in late 2009. It actually, for all purposes, worked, even though it was cheap and kinda silly.
At Ace of Spades 2 in 04/11, we decided to have a guy print the patches on banner matieral, and the patches were then covered in velcro... and a waterproof and highly durable patch was born for our events.
We used the same process at Op Black & Tan 1 in 10/11 with similar results.
We find it strange and amazing that we go to open games and see players wearing all three of these insignia on their gear outside of the CAA games. Thank you for your support!
